I purchased this netbook in advance of going to a professional conference one month ago and I’m thrilled with its performance. The battery lasts nearly as long as they say (somewhere between 7-8 hours) although less long depending on what applications you are running. The keyboard is quite large enough for easy touch-typing, and the machine runs quietly. It is sufficiently slim that you can put it in a largish handbag and take it just about anywhere.

I ordered a mini NB205 with atom N280 Intel processor. It has 250G hard drive, built in web camera, several USB2 slots, an SD slot for the digital camera card, a full size keyboard, runs Win 7 starter, and is black, for about 0. I have had it for 2 months, and have been traveling most of that time, though I had a week to set it up before we left. I am very satisfied with it, especially it portability and functionality. I don’t do graphics-intensive stuff. I do WiFi email, some web surfing, Office stuff, Skype, some Bible software, and save my pictures. The only thing I am not very satisfied with is the sound quality of Skype calls, but I expected that based on reviews I read before buying it. Probably I would be happy with a headset, but then my wife cannot join the conversation with grandchildren. I still have well over 200G of space on my HD. I charge it for an hour or so in the morning after I get up, and that is usually enough for use throughout the day. I have had not problems with it. I figured out how to load software from DVDs via my laptop which is part of my home network. I have not noticed any limitations with the OS; my other PCs run XP. I recommend it for anyone who has a similar use profile.

Amazing quality finish. Battery life exceeded my expectations, between 8 and 11 hours and no lost charge when off.
Excellent keyboard. Snappy performance. Nice matt screen.
2 downs are touchpad could have been slightly bigger, and screen res could have been 768 high instead of 600. Otherwise everything else is perfect.

ASUS 1000HD-BKBB1 Netbook with Windows XP, 120GB HDD Review

The netbook itself is an excellent product, it represents the quality that asus eee computers can bring. Before I tell you the postivies im gonna mention real quick the negatives and what you should be aware when you purchase this particular refurbished model. The laptop comes with a 4 cell battery which means that it at max lasts 3 and half hours which is kind of bad, and second thing to be aware about is that it has the celeron M processor which means that it it is not an atom concluding that it requires, and gets super hot. The processor is an old model of the ASUS netbooks lineup so what is going to happen the battery is gonna get sucked by the processor. So dont get scared if the laptop is boiling hot in your lap just make sure you dont leave it on like i do lol.
