ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1005PE-PU17-BU 10.1-Inch Blue Netbook - Up to 14 Hours of Battery Life Review

ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1005PE-PU17-BU 10.1-Inch Blue Netbook - Up to 14 Hours of Battery Life
This is my first netbook, and it’s everything I want and more! The Chiclet keyboard is what made me buy this eee on the first place. I was skeptical about the Windows 7 Starter, but no worries, I upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate with no problem! The 1g memory is not slow for me at all. I’m a college student who uses it for basic functions (ie. internet & word processor) so I think I will stick with the 1g for awhile. This eee is also built really sturdy! Don’t mind the extra little weight because the battery lasts a long long long time! I’m at school 13+ hours a day, and this baby lasts me all day and night with a few hours to spare for video chatting with my friends! I’ve only had this sweet little beast for almost a week, and so far I haven’t had any problems with it. Also for under 0, this sure is a Cadillac of all netbooks right now! The only lame part is that it didn’t come with a sleeve like other models do… also it is quite a fingerprint magnet — but those details don’t bother me.

ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1008HA-MU17-BK 10.1-Inch Black Netbook - 6 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter) Review

ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1008HA-MU17-BK 10.1-Inch Black Netbook - 6 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)
I decided to purchase this one because it met and exceeded my requirements for a NETBOOK. The specs on this baby match up better than most. Great keyboard and mouse, keys feel great, wireless n, fast boot, upgradeable from 1GB to 2GB, user friendly ASUS Bios updater interface, Microsoft works, lightweight. You must understand first the context of my statement. I wanted a NETbook. Not a Laptop. I didnt want an “ultimate” or Professional” version of ANYTHING running on this NETbook. I wanted it to be lean and mean. I wanted a small, powerful, convenient AND FAST NETbook for casual surfing and email. If you wanted more, your in the wrong market. I didnt buy this to play games, edit, video, watch TV or DVD’s, etc. Like I said I didn’t want a Laptop. Windows Starter 32 bit is an excellent match for a NETbook. Think of Windows 7 Starter as just that, the place to start. I figured, if I NEED an “anytime upgrade” Ill get it. At this point, having had used it for a week, I’m not changing a thing. Less is more with a NETbook. Ill save upgrades for my LAPtop and DESKtop. From when I push the power button to my first opening click of Firefox = less than one minute. I removed some preloaded crapware, i.e. ASUS whistles and bells and some preloaded games. Added Norton Internet Security Netbook Edition, and bingo, the perfect NETbook.

ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1201N-PU17-SL 12.1-Inch Silver Netbook - 5 Hours of Battery Life Review

ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1201N-PU17-SL 12.1-Inch Silver Netbook - 5 Hours of Battery Life
I was looking for a 12 inch lap top, 10 inch is too small, Mac Book is too expensive. Along comes the 1201N. Specs looked to put this machine right at the forefront of good computing. This is easily one of the best notebooks that have come along in a long time. It comes with 2G memory, 1.75G useable. I have actually upped the memory to 4GB, 3.5GB usuable…it runs much better. Crucial did not have the 1201N in their database for memory upgrade but they do now. Spnd the 0.00, it’s well worth the added cost.

ASUS Eee PC 1008HA Seashell 10.1-Inch Pearl White Netbook - 6 Hour Battery Life Review

ASUS Eee PC 1008HA Seashell 10.1-Inch Pearl White Netbook - 6 Hour Battery Life
very nice looking netbook, thin, light and i like the glossy case. has the faster N280 1.66ghz cpu and performs good. Runs windows 7 great. downsides are that it only has 2 usb ports and to upgrade the memory you have to completely tear this one apart which voids the warranty. i would probably go with the 1005 version though due to the extended battery life and extra usb port.
