I highly recommend buying this laptop. It easily upgraded to Mac OS X Leopard, and it was hundreds of dollars cheaper than a Mac. Buy refurbished; it will save you a lot of money.

First off, I think everyone is being a little critical of this machine. I recently picked it up at a local retailer in Dallas for less than two benjamins, so maybe if some of those people had gotten it at THAT price point, they might have a different tune. But I digress. First the weak points.

Got this for the lady wife. She has been more than happy. She sits on the couch and IMs her sister and her daughter, updates her blogs and generally has a good time with it. Seems a trifle slow, but then it IS a netbook.

I bought this to have something on the go that can last a long time and it does that. I did have problems trying to get online, but function F1 fixed that right up for me. Besides that getting used to the smaller keyboard takes all of an hour or so. As for the speed, its quick enough. Just wondering if upgrading the speed will be worth it on this little guy. Long story short, it looks good, the case is nice and it came quick. Thanks.

I only can say ASUS Eee PC netbook is really beautifull. I am not an expert but i think according to my experience is a very good product.

Great little machine. Biggest annoyance: swapped location of Fn and Ctrl keys on the lower left… Nice and light - battery power only about 2 hours; May or may not be problematic for individuals. Great for surfing and email while traveling - wouldn’t want to do photo editing or heavy-duty spreadsheet work for any length of time but plenty of power to handle it. No complaints.

I just love this tiny computer to death!
Pros:
- The keyboard is not crammed like some other netbooks. Even though it takes a while to get used to having the PageUp/Down button the same as Home/End button, it’s actually very convenient once you’re used to it.
- Battery life is long.
- Light and very good for college students who take notes on their computers.
- Looks very cute

I am very happy with this little notebook! Although I use a larger Mac laptop as my primary computer, this one is wonderful for it’s portability. It easily fits in my book bag. I read some of the more technical reviews here prior to purchasing, and was impressed. So far this little Eee lives up to the reviews.
I did install the optional 2 GB memory because I wanted to run photoshop and other software. Everything works just fine.
I would recommend the Asus eee 1000HA to anyone who is looking for a small portable computer.
