Bought this a couple of weeks ago, and I must say I’m very happy I did. Overall performance is fully acceptable (which is better than any other netbook I’ve tried), and the gaming performance is amazing for what you pay.
I’m typing this review on this Acer netbook, which I’ve now had for a week and it’s working out great for me. After bringing it home I immediately removed all the crapware (as a Mac owner, I had forgotten about how ugly buying a new Windows computer is), and then proceeded to upgrade to Windows 7. I filled the 250GB hard drive with my research and programs, and everything has worked out without a hitch. I do recommend upgrading all the drivers from the Acer Website after going to Windows 7, this may be the reason why others have complained about freezing machines and the like.
Purchased this Acer as a second netbook. I plan on keeping it in the kitchen with all of my recipes so as to minimize clutter. I also have an 8.9″ Acer for everyday use and travel.
I love the screen. No weird aspect ratio so it doesn’t affect viewing certain programs, like Cricut Design Studio. On my other Acer I had to scroll to see the entire screen. You’d think the small size would matter, but it doesn’t. The clarity of the screen makes up for the size.

I had been looking at the Acer Aspire w/10″ screen for ages, and just so happened to look at Acer’s website and saw this one with the 11.6″ screen and decided based on such positive reviews on the other model, to get this one.
(Sucks that I had already ordered the leather case for the 10″ model in advance, so it doesn’t fit this one)
If you are looking for a Netbook with a great screen, unbelievable battery life, solid build quality, I highly recommend the 1101HA from ASUS. I have been using mine for a little over a month, and am so far very satisfied. I use this both to just surf the web when I am kicked back on the coach, and when I travel as my primary system. I travel very frequently, gone are the days when I have to run around the airport trying to find an outlet. I can put in a solid 8 hour day and just ‘forget’ to plug the system in for power. It doesn’t compare to my x301 thinkpad, but that is a K different class of system (this is a netbook, not a notebook). The 1101HA has an overdrive feature, that coupled with the built in Atom extensions for HD really boost performance when you want to watch movies, or have an intensive application (editing a large presentation).
